Overview of furniture contracts

• All furniture supplied by contracted suppliers who have gone through a rigorous tender process.
• Awarded to most economically advantageous tenderers.
• Dealing directly with British manufacturers for most furniture so very competitive costs as not buying from dealers.
• Checks made on supplier’s finances and insurances levels to ensure viability of the suppliers.
• Sustainability – where possible buying direct from British manufacturers which shows a reduction in carbon footprint and limiting the impact on the environment.
• Timber sourced from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)

• Fully compliant contracts.
• Suppliers have been rigorously evaluated to ensure viability.
• All furniture meets current BSI Standards.
• Where possible furniture is bought direct from British manufacturers, reducing the carbon footprint.
• Timber is from sustainable sources (FSC certified), and in some cases if fully recyclable or made from recycled materials.
• Reasonable lead times and in some cases within 1 week.
• Most furniture is delivered fully assembled*.
• Suppliers are managed by the County Supplies Furniture Team.
